We will begin the week looking at 2D shapes. Can you name all of the shapes below?

We are going to look at the properties of some 2D shapes. The properties are what something has. For example, a square has 4 sides and 4 corners. All of the sides are the same length. Have a look at the resources below to help with your learning of 2D shapes and their properties. 

Next we are going to begin to look at 3D shapes. We are going to be looking for 2D shapes on the surface of 3D shapes. Look at the picture below. Familiarise yourself with the 3D shapes below. Can you spot any 2D shapes on them?

Symmetry

We are going to end the week with looking at symmetry. If you can draw a line through the middle of an object and it looks the same on each side, it is symmetrical. Look at these symmetrical pictures below.

We will be heading outside to create our very own symmetrical pictures using natural resources. Look at the ones below. Can you create something similiar?
