Money
This week we are looking at money. In England, what coins do we have? What notes do we have? Can you identify all of the ones below?


We will begin the week by checking that we can name all of the coins and notes and count money. We will then be making the same amount of money in different ways, using our knowledge of place value to help us. Make sure you begin by making the tens part of the number first and then the ones part. For example, if the amount is 36p, begin by making the 30p using different coins and then the 6p. Then repeat. See the example below.
10p + 10p + 10p = 30p
2p + 2p + 2p = 6p
10p + 10p + 5p + 5p = 30p
2p + 2p + 1p + 1p= 6p
