Multiplication

This week we will be learning how to multiply. This is also known as times tables and lots of. An array is an arrangement of pictures, objects or symbols in rows and columns with an equal number in each row and column. Check out the arrays below.

Because of the ways arrays are organised, it makes it really easy to count the amount of objects. Sometimes you can use your counting in 2s, 3s, 5s or 10s to help with this.
We will then be moving onto using the X symbol and beginning to learn and recall our 2 and 10 times tables. You can draw an array to help with this or count on your fingers in 2s and 10s to get the answers. We will also be looking at odd and even numbers and carrying out investigations involving these numbers.
