Geography

Welcome to our new Project!

Our new project is geography based and we will be learning how to be geographers.

Watch the video below to find out more about where we will be learning about!

Our New Project

Tune in to Monday's Live Lesson to find out how to complete a KWL grid.

Activity 1

Have a think about how you're going to get to New Zealand.

Which oceans or continents will you cross? (Watch the videos below to learn a bit more about them).

Which countries will you visit?

Why did you choose to visit them and what did you see there?

What mode of transport will you need?

Plot your journey by drawing lines on the world map below from country to country. You can also write which mode of transport you used - it might be plane, ship, train, car etc.

We would love to see your journeys and what you saw. Here is my one below.

In order to be successful geographers, there is some important vocabulary that we need to understand. Have a look at the videos below to learn some geographical language that is important to our project.

Activity 2

Using the videos above and the maps below, can you label the 7 continents and 5 oceans?

Activity 3

Can you remember the parts of the UK? What about New Zealand?

Below are some maps for you to complete.

We want to see the different parts of the UK and the capital city for England. If you'd like a challenge, can you plot on the map where we are?

Next, can you complete the map of New Zealand - can you remember the capital city?

If you need any help, don't forget to watch the 1st video again, any information you need is in it! Good luck!
