Week 5

Next week, we will be learning, in more detail, about The Battle of Trafalgar and Lord Nelson's life. We will be debating about Lord Nelson and what he was like as a person - was he good or not? Was he a hero or not? We will be using all of the information we learn next week, and from what we have learned so far, to create a leaflet for the HMS Victory Museum. 

During our Art lessons, we will be continuing to learn about using water colour pencils and using them to complete our Lord Nelson portraits. 

In Maths we will be learning about 2D and 3D shape. We will be identifying, describing and comparing shapes using the language of sides, edges, faces, vertices and corners. We will be using Venn and Carroll Diagrams to show our understanding. 

In Phonics we are going to be recapping all of the suffixes and the rules we have learned for them so far. This includes doubling up the consonant, dropping the 'e' and swapping the 'y' for an 'i' when adding the suffixes 'ed', 'ing', 'er' and 'est. Perhaps you could look out for this when you are reading together.
