Task Design
Designing the right tasks for the children to make progress is essential in our integrated curriculum. Tasks are progressive and subject specific vocabulary is planned and then taught. Correct terminology gives children the key to unlock the subjects they are learning and make connections in the world around them. Mastery Tasks, which further deepens learning, are planned for children who have fully understood what they have been taught and are then applying their knowledge.
Learning Values underpin each project and the tasks are designed to develop children's knowledge and understanding of these. For example, if interdependence is one of the learning values for a project, the tasks will be designed to promote teamwork and roles within a team.
Through their three years with us, children will encounter all these values many times, growing and developing their understanding of how to be a successful learner.
