The Art Hut
The grand opening of our fantastic outdoors Art Hut
The Art Hut is our outdoors art experience for all of our children to use and further develop a love of art. It was introduced in an assembly whereby we selected Year 2 children to help and inspire the children who would use the hut to enjoy and explore and develop their art skills. In addition to their role they were there to maintain the resource and display the children's work.
Mrs. Riches who is our 'in-house' artist was invited to the assembly for her to share her passion for art. She not only shared some of her own personal artwork but also she showed the children how to draw a self-portrait. All of the children absolutely loved hearing her story and watching her create her portrait.
After the assembly we gathered around the art hut, in the playground, for the official opening. After the opening, groups of children enjoyed exploring the Art Hut and immediately began using the different material available to create their work.
