Week 3 4.10.21
Dear Parents and Carers
We hope the children enjoyed our Health and Hygiene week. Dr Raftery talked to the children about her job and the importance of handwashing. Heart Stop showed the children some basic first aid and how to put someone into the recovery position. We've heard some of the children have been practising on you!
This week is Senses Week. In Science the children will be using their senses to explore the environment. They will learn what part of the body is associated with each sense and how important the senses are to keeping safe.
Using this knowledge the children will write a poem based on keeping safe using their senses.
In Maths we are continuing to use numberlines to solve calculations. This week is focusing on subtraction and the children will be counting back in steps of one to solve number problems.
We teach phonics every day. We are going to let you know each week which sounds we are focusing on. Please help your child use these sounds when reading, spotting them in the text.
This week's sounds are:-
-ai snail in the rain
-igh fly high
-oa goat in a boat
-ar start the car
