Week 3

Next week we will be recapping the following sounds in phonics:

a_e, make a cake

ea, cup of tea

i_e, nice smile

o_e, phone home

u_e, huge brute

Please look out for these sounds in the text when you are reading together or even when you are out and about!

In Maths, we will be subtracting ten and multiples of ten from 2-digit numbers. There will be lots of opportunities for outdoor learning within this and problem solving and reasoning, too.

In Literacy, we will be looking at different aspects of newspaper reports. This is in preparation for us becoming news reporters and writing our own reports based on what happened during The Great Fire of London.

During our project time, we will be thinking about how they tried to put the fire out and playing true/false games to test our Great Fire knowledge. We will also be beginning a new piece of art work where we will be learning about marbling oil paints and collage.
