Below are the handwriting formation families.

There is a powerpoint formation demonstration to help the children remember to always start in the same place on the line.

The children can practise the formation in the following ways:-

• water and a paint brush on the patio, pavement or wall
• chalk
• paint
• in a tray of sand or shaving foam
• with different pens and pencils
• in the air
• on formation sheets (to follow)
