Welcome from the Headteacher
Dear Parents and Carers
My name is Mrs Riches and on behalf of the children, staff, and governors I would warmly like to welcome you to Bishops Waltham Infant School. Together we will make the next three years for you and your child an exciting learning journey. We will celebrate successes, ensuring your child’s time with us is treasured and remembered.
Your child will feel valued, happy and safe in our exciting learning environment, becoming curious about the world in our ‘Wonder Wood’, caring for our environment in our fabulous grounds and surrounded by opportunities to learn in every corner.
Our carefully planned integrated curriculum, gives a clear context for learning, making links, whilst building knowledge and skills. It is underpinned by 6 key learning values which will enable your child to build on their prior learning, discovering how to be learners for life. Our rich, integrated projects will, for example, enable your child to delve into the past to be a historian or develop the skills need to be a designer. It will ignite their curiosity for the world around them. Trips, visitors and visits to our local community of Bishops Waltham will further enthuse your child to develop a thirst to find out more!
Through our BADGER values, your child will understand our ethos on how to be a member of our school community and start to develop their own values to become caring individuals and responsible citizens.
Caring staff, with a wealth of experience, plan closely as a team to ensure your child is taught to succeed, leading to our consistent very high attainment in the three essential key skills to unlock learning; reading, writing and maths.
You will be an essential part of your child’s learning and our partnership will ensure that the next three years will be full of discovery. I look forward to getting to know you and your child on our journey together.
With best wishes
Ginene Riches
