Week 3
Next week Year 2 will continue to explore life on board HMS Victory. We will compare the life of a Captain and a Sailor and will write a letter to Lord Nelson about the living conditions. We will try and persuade him to make the conditions better.
In Maths we are looking at measures, taking our learning outside. We will learn about metres and centimetres. We will be measuring objects, comparing lengths and heights, and drawing shapes using correct measures.
Weekly spellings will continue in school, as will daily phonics. Spelling books will come home with new words in them ready to be tested each Monday. We will hear every child read and books will begin to come home. Don’t forget we have Bug Club and this will continue to be used at home and in school.
We will also be doing a lot of art, sketching and painting HMS Victory and Lord Nelson.
Our PE day is currently a Tuesday. Don’t forget to send your child in full PE kit on that day.
We look forward to welcoming you back on Monday.
