Hindu Week
This week Year 2 will be learning all about the Hindu religion.
During this week you will find out all about the faith of Hinduism through story, puppet shows, fact files and much more. You will learn about the rituals and traditions that are important to Hindus and special days that are celebrated by Hindus around the world.
Hinduism teaches Hindus that their soul is eternal.
The soul is different from the body. The soul is there in all creatures so we must respect all people and animals too.
When Hindus greet each other they put the palms of their hands together and say "Namaste". This word comes from the ancient Indian language of Sanskrit. It means "My respects to you."
Can you say "Namaste" and put your hands together? Have a go!
