Our Vision for Community

We want everyone to belong, to feel connected and see themselves as a valued and visual person in our community; a community where everyone is acknowledged and recognised, where people take time for each other and where we are bound by common values.  Where identity is strong, children feel a sense of pride and acceptance. 

At our school we nurture this recognising uniqueness in our culture and our way.  Children’s futures are shaped by experience, and what they see, hear and receive.  We celebrate differences, know everyone is special and create an environment where all can thrive.  Our children see kindness, hear affirmation and make lasting memories.  They want to give back, make their mark and aspire to be influential.  Taking part in special school events, leading parents though project outcomes and joining with others in school assemblies provides the opportunities to have their voice, show their commitment and be part of the school family. 

Knowing our children are the citizens of the future and that they will continue to grow the beginning of their lives in Bishops Waltham raising their own children to inherit this sense of belonging, we take all opportunities to foster their connections with our community.  Children interact with councillors, businesses and groups through studying the unique geography of Bishops Waltham, understanding its history and respecting its traditions.  We celebrate our community, feeling a special connection to our village and its people.
