January/February/March

Each class has been set the challenge of reading 100 books by the end of the school year – we’re looking forward to seeing if they can rise to it!

We also enjoyed a fantastic day celebrating books and the joy of reading on World Book Day.

We introduced our first initiative that the parents could get involved in – Secret Reader. Parents sign up to read a book to their child’s class but keep it a secret!

April/May/June

Each class has been busy rising to the challenge of reading 100 books! The children have been so excited to share how many books their class have read and how many they have left to read. Keep going everyone!

We have invited the children and their families to read in unusual spots! We have loved seeing the photos of them all and finding out the most unusual place they've read. Keep your eyes peeled for our display in school.

We also enjoyed a visit from our local library. The children learned about how to sign-up to the library and how to use the library. They were also introduced to the Summer Reading Challenge and there was a buzz of excitement as they all vowed to take part!
