Julie Sykes - author visit to school
What a fantastic morning we had today with the wonderful author, Julie Sykes. Julie has written over 100 books and has a wealth of knowledge, ideas and experience that can inspire us all to get reading and writing.
Julie read Year R a story called 'That Pesky Dragon' and was able to answer a question from Owl Class.
Julie then met all of the children in Year 1 and 2. She was able to show us really special things like her magic box of things that help her to write (including ice cream!), her office where she keeps all of the books she has written and we even got to meet her dog.
Year 1 and 2 asked some fantastic questions including 'which book are you most proud of?' and 'which book is your favourite?'
We were so lucky to have had the opportunity to meet Julie and thank her for her time and inspiration.
Julie will be sending us some of her stories to share in our library, which we can't wait to read.
