Weekly Update Friday 7th March

Dear Parents and Carers,

It has been another wonderful week at school, and it has been so lovely to see so many of you at our Parent-Teacher meetings this week. Thank you for taking the time to come in and discuss your child’s progress. If you were unable to attend, please do reach out to your child’s class teacher to arrange an appointment at a time that suits you.

Our Book Fayre was a great success, and the children had so much fun exploring the books on offer. They also enjoyed the fantastic book character costumes worn on World Book Day – it was wonderful to see so much creativity! The bookmaking activities throughout the day were a big hit, and it was a joy to see all the children so engaged in them.

Please be sure to check your inbox for details of the Cyber Awareness Training taking place at the Junior School on 12th March. All infant parents are warmly invited to attend, and we highly recommend this valuable session.

In Year R, we are looking forward to their exciting trip to the Arboretum on Wednesday, 12th March, as part of their “Growing” theme. This is sure to be an enriching experience for them.

As always, please check your child’s class emails for updates from each Year Group this week.

The children have been making the most of the spring sunshine and enjoying outdoor learning. The school grounds look absolutely glorious with all the flowers in bloom, and it’s a pleasure to see the children so happy and engaged.

Here’s a quick snapshot of what the children have been learning this week:

  • Year R: Exploring how plants grow
  • Year 1: Continuing their journey as historians and enjoying their exhibition of historical artefacts
  • Year 2: Learning about the life and legacy of Horatio Nelson, including his timeline and fascinating facts about one of Britain’s most famous admirals

It has been a wonderful week of learning, and we look forward to more fun and exciting experiences ahead.

Wishing you all a lovely weekend – and let’s hope the sunshine continues!

Kind regards

Mrs Riches
