  • Christmas Bazaar Day

    Tue 14 Dec 2021

The children have had a lovely day buying gifts for their relatives in our Christmas shopping bazaars. Presents are wrapped and labelled, ready to go under trees at home. Some items are bubble wrapped and are a little more fragile, and some may melt, so please take care when choosing where to put them.

Tomorrow we have our non uniform/Christmas party clothes day. We are hoping for a visit from the man in red himself! Fingers crossed!

  • Covid Information

    Mon 13 Dec 2021

We currently have 5% of our children not attending school due to a positive PCR and a further 5% awaiting PCR test results. The numbers are creeping up slowly, and we are urging any parents whose child is not feeling well/has a headache/been sick/had a temperature/ developed a new cough to take their child for a PCR test and not bring them into school until they have a result. The positive cases are in all year groups.

We are not part of the track and trace procedure any more, and we will be following our risk assessment if a child displays any of these symptoms when in school with us; that is to isolate children and to telephone emergency contacts, in the order they are on the list,  to come and collect children as soon as possible.

We will continue to do our best to keep everybody as safe as we possibly can.

    Kind regards

  • Christmas Week

    Mon 13 Dec 2021

    Dear Parents and Carers

Thank you for the lovely emails we have received regarding our outdoor Christmas Celebration Evening. Staff and parents on the PTA worked really hard to make sure it really was a special evening for everybody.

We are currently on our Christmas Countdown week. These are the things we have on, and what you need to do:

All week: Foodbank donations made in boxes outside. They will be collected by the foodbank on Friday morning.

Tuesday: Christmas Bazaar day. Please bring correct money in an envelope with your child's shopping list. Presents are £2.50, and each child can buy 2 presents. The presents to choose from are for adults/older teens. They will be gift wrapped and labelled. We still need wrapping paper donations and bubble wrap donations for this event. Please also bring in a named carrier bag for the presents.

Wednesday: Christmas Lunch and Party day. Party clothes/non school uniform can be worn all day (with sensible footwear please).

    Thursday: Virtual Christmas Panto Day

Friday: Christmas jumper/top non school uniform day- please bring a donation for the Naomi House Charity.

Please bring in named carrier bags ready for children's Christmas bits to come home. If you have any spare carrier bags, please send them in.

Please don't worry if you forget one the above days-telephone the office and we will help to sort everything out.

    Kind regards

    Mrs Riches

  • IMPORTANT_Christmas Celebration Evening changed to Friday 10th December

    Thu 09 Dec 2021

    Dear Parents and Carers

Due to the very heavy rain forecast for this evening, we are moving our Christmas Celebration evening to Friday 10th December. It will be at the slightly earlier time of 4.30pm (with children singing at 5pm) , so that everyone can carry on with the evening if they have Christmas plans.

We will see you on Friday!

    Best wishes

  • It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas!

    Thu 02 Dec 2021

Thank you to our brilliant PTA and the Christmas Crew within in, for organising and decorating our Christmas Tree- it looks brilliant! All around our school our LSAs have been weaving their festive magic and all day on Wednesday our children were very excited to see them.

Our Christmas Countdown was on the newsletter, with all the activities we have planned.

We are really looking forward to our Christmas evening on 9th December. We will be opening a little earlier than advertised (5.15pm) and singing will start at 5,45pm. We have learned several songs, many of which you can join in with too! There will be food and drink and some more stalls to buy things and make things. Remember to wrap up warm and come along!

All details are in the November newsletter, so please look on there for information. Thank you to all our Christmas helpers for making the school look so special for the children!

  • Christmas Bauble Trail

Thu 02 Dec 2021 Kate Charles

This year, we have enjoyed worked with Bishops Waltham Town Team to make Christmas baubles. Every child in the school has made one and they will be displayed in the local shops.

This week, we have sent home information about the Christmas Bauble Trail. Children need to write down the number of baubles in each shop, complete the contact information on the back and hand them in to Sweet Corner or Best Wishes for the chance to win a special Christmas prize for their family.

Your child can collect their own bauble from the shop it is in from December 18th.

    Have fun bauble hunting!

  • Important Update

    Sun 28 Nov 2021

Many of you may have watched the update from the government on Saturday, regarding the new omicron variant of COVID-19 in the UK. Today we have had advice from the DFE, for all staff to go back to mask wearing in communal areas.

Firstly, I would like to reassure you of the measures that are currently in place in school. We have 3 assembly times where Year 1 and 2 are together, with a space between them. At all other times, children are only mixing with children in the same year group. We fog all classrooms every day. Staff regularly clean touch points and tables throughout the day. Children use hand sanitiser on entry to classrooms and regular hand washing takes place. The library is open to one year group per day. We will take advice from the DFE when issued, if we need to further strengthen these measures.

As an extra safety measure, to help keep adults safe at drop off and pick up, we request that face masks are worn again, and to keep 2m from the classroom doors. We would really appreciate it if everyone can do this from tomorrow morning(Monday 29th November). One adult per child group/family is still in place too. We hope with these extra measures we can try to keep our school community safer.

    Thank you for your cooperation.

    Kind regards

    Mrs Riches
