  • We had a visit from George Hollingbery MP

    Fri 03 Mar 2017 GR

Today we had a visit from Mr George Hollingbery, the Member of Parliament  for the  Meon Valley Constituency. He talked to Years 1 and 2 about his role in Parliament and then answered the questions the children thought of, such as 'Is it tiring being a MP?', ''How many places does a MP work?' and 'What does a MP do?'. George answered all the questions brilliantly and at the end lots of children said they would like to be a MP when they grow up.

We also toured the school and discussed the things we do that enables us to continue to keep standards high, including our investment into specialised sports coaching and our innovative games curriculum. We also discussed the funding issues all small rural schools are facing.

  • What a Fantastic Festival

    Fri 23 Sep 2016 GR

We had a lovely time at St Peter's Church today celebrating our Harvest Festival. Year R sang 'Dingle Dangle Scarecrow', Year 1 read prayers and recited a poem and Year 2 read their prayers and retold the story of the little Red Hen. Thank you to all the parents who contributed tins for the Winchester Basics Bank, all the parent helpers who walked to the church  and to everyone at the church for giving us a warm welcome.

  • New Year R talk

    Mon 13 Jun 2016 G Riches

Our new Year R talk was held on Thursday 9th June. It was an introduction evening into our school and community and was very well attended by our new Year R parents. Following an introduction to our school by Mrs Riches, the parents heard about our Governors from Nick Mathews, our chair. This was followed by talks from Nikky Hammond, our PTA Chair, SEND information from Mrs Campone, an introduction to our school nursing help and advice and our fabulous caterers HC3s. Following this, Mrs Charles, Miss Turner and the rest of the Year R staff took parents through a typical day in Year R, followed by a trip to the classrooms.

Our Songs and Rhymes sessions start on Wednesday 15th June for the September 2016 intake and continue every Wednesday and Thursday for three weeks at 2pm. If your child is starting in our school in September, please take advantage of these fabulous sessions that enable children to start meeting staff in the school and get used to the school environment.
