Special Assembly
Wed 22 Jun 2022We had some visitors to our school assembly this morning. Kate and Dale from Morgan Sindall Group came to talk to the children about the new Bishops Waltham Fire Station they are building in Lower Lane. They explained about the special safety clothes they have to wear including high vis vests, safety helmets and special boots. The children asked some really sensible questions and Kate and Dale said they were much better questions than adults ask them! They brought a huge picture of a tree with no leaves on it for the children to print their hands on to. This will then be used as the artwork on the hoarding that will go across the front of the site.
If you walk past the site give Kate and Dale a wave or say hello!

Sports Day
Mon 20 Jun 2022Weather permitting, our Sports Day is this Friday (24th June)
For many of you this will be your first sports day at school, so an exciting time! As per Mrs Charles' newsletter in May, you will be walking around the events with your child and a chance to purchase refreshments in the break (cash only). Photographs can be taken, but please do not post on social media-they are for personal use only.
Following dropping your child off in the morning, please make your way to the large playground (around the edge), for our opening ceremony. It will be finished by 12 o'clock.

Crossing The Road Safely
Tue 07 Jun 2022Bobby came to our assembly today to tell the children about how he didn't cross the road safely this morning and nearly got run over! Lots of our children were excellent at helping Bobby to learn the 4 key things he had to know about crossing the road safely on his way to school:
STOP
LOOK
LISTEN
THINKWe also watched some of our road safety videos as a good reminder. The children enjoyed meeting Bobby, and I am sure they will see him in a few more assemblies!

School Bird Box Update
Fri 20 May 2022Unfortunately, the laptop running the bird box software failed and we haven't been able to keep an eye on our chicks. However, today we have managed to find a replacement laptop and get the software up and running again. We are happy to report there are six chicks in the nest and they have grown considerably with lots of feathers adorning their little bodies. If you'd like to log on to see how much they have grown, visit: http://www.seenature.org.uk/schools/bishops-waltham-infant-school/
